How a triplex plunger pump works
Three plungers move in sequence, giving smoother flow than single-piston designs. Plungers are often ceramic or hardened material to resist wear.
Where a standard pump fits
Light-duty pressure washers suit occasional home use. They are generally not built for all-day commercial duty.
What to check on any pump
- Rated pressure and flow, from the pump nameplate and data sheet
- Motor power and phase needed to drive it at that flow
- Inlet water supply and filtration
- Unloader or bypass valve
- Availability of seals, plungers and valves
The BJ-70
The BJ-70 is a triplex plunger pump listed for commercial car washing. Do not size a motor from assumed figures: confirm the nameplate and supplier data. See the BJ-70 pump page.
